Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

ABD Composites ("we", "us") is a web-based composite materials engineering tool. This policy describes what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

Account data

When you create an account with email and password, we collect your email address. If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, your email address is provided by the authentication provider. We do not store your name or other profile information from these providers.

Google user data

Data accessed: When you sign in with Google, we request access to your email address only. We do not request access to any other Google services, files, or data.

Data usage: Your Google email address is used solely for providing user-facing features of the ABD Composites service. Specifically, we use this email to:

  • Create and identify your ABD Composites user account
  • Send you essential account notifications (such as password resets and account updates)
  • Provide customer support when you contact us

Your email address is never used for purposes unrelated to providing the ABD Composites service to you.

Data storage: Your email address is stored securely in our database hosted on Supabase (PostgreSQL). All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. We do not share, sell, or transfer your Google email address to third parties except as necessary to operate the service. The only third-party service that processes your email address is Resend (our email delivery provider) when we send you account notifications.

Data retention: Your email address is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your email address and all associated data are permanently removed from our systems.

Revoking access: You can revoke ABD Composites' access to your Google account at any time by visiting your Google Account permissions page. Note that revoking access will prevent you from signing in with Google, but will not delete your ABD Composites account or data.

Prohibited uses: We do not and will not:

  • Use your Google user data for advertising, retargeting, or interest-based advertising
  • Sell or transfer your data to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers
  • Use your data for creditworthiness assessment or lending purposes
  • Use your data for surveillance purposes
  • Use your data to train AI or machine learning models

Your Google user data is used solely to provide the ABD Composites engineering tool service to you.

Cookies

We only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the application to function. These are session cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party cookies for profiling. Signup and signin forms use Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection, which may set its own cookies or use browser storage as part of the challenge process.

Analytics

We use Umami Cloud for website analytics. Umami is a privacy-focused analytics service that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track users across websites. It collects only aggregate page view statistics such as page URLs, referrers, browser type, and country. No consent banner is required because no personal data is processed.

Your engineering data

Material properties, laminates, and analysis results you create are stored in our database and belong to your account. We do not share, sell, or use your engineering data for any purpose other than providing the service to you. If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed.

Error reporting

We use automated error monitoring to detect and fix bugs. When an error occurs, technical details (browser type, error message, stack trace) are collected. No personal data or engineering data is included in error reports.

Third-party services

We use third-party service providers for hosting, authentication, analytics, error monitoring, email delivery, and bot protection. These providers only receive the minimum data necessary to perform their function and process it according to their own privacy policies. Signup and signin forms use Cloudflare Turnstile for bot detection. Cloudflare may process your IP address and browser fingerprint to distinguish humans from bots.

Data security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication tokens are stored in secure, HTTP-only cookies. We follow industry-standard practices to protect your data, but no system is completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
