Last updated: March 21, 2026
These terms of service (the "Agreement") govern your use of ABD Composites (the "Service"), operated from the Netherlands. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service.
Use of the Service
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with this Agreement. You agree not to use the Service:
- In any way that violates any applicable law or regulation
- To impersonate or attempt to impersonate us, our employees, another user, or any other person or entity
- To attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or any systems or networks connected to the Service
- To interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service
- To engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of the Service, or which may harm us or users of the Service
Account Registration
To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to keep this information up to date. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if we believe you have violated this Agreement.
Your Data
You retain ownership of all data you create, upload, or store through the Service, including material properties, laminate configurations, and analysis results ("Your Data"). We do not claim ownership over Your Data.
By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We will not share, sell, or use Your Data for any purpose other than operating the Service, unless required by law.
If your account is deleted, we will make reasonable efforts to remove Your Data from our systems, though cached or backup copies may persist for a limited time.
Data Processing and Privacy
The Service is operated from the Netherlands. Your Data is stored and processed on servers located in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data outside of your country of residence. We process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For details on how we collect, use, and protect your personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
Engineering Tools and Calculation Accuracy
The Service includes composite materials engineering tools that perform calculations based on Classical Lamination Theory (CLT), micromechanics models, failure criteria, and structural analysis methods derived from published academic and engineering literature. These tools are intended as aids for qualified engineers and are not a substitute for independent engineering judgment, testing, or verification.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any calculations, results, or outputs produced by the Service. All results are provided for informational and preliminary design purposes only and should not be treated as a sole source of truth for engineering decisions. You acknowledge that:
- Calculation outputs depend on the accuracy of user-provided input data, including material properties, loading conditions, and laminate configurations
- Theoretical models have inherent simplifications and assumptions that may not capture all real-world phenomena, including but not limited to manufacturing variability, environmental degradation, fatigue, and damage tolerance
- Results should always be validated against independent analysis, physical testing, or other engineering verification methods before being used in any safety-critical, structural, or production application
- You, as the user, are solely responsible for interpreting results and determining their suitability for your specific application
- The Service does not replace the need for professional engineering certification, regulatory compliance, or qualification testing as required by applicable industry standards
We shall not be held liable for any design decisions, structural failures, material losses, personal injury, or any other damages resulting from reliance on the outputs of the engineering tools provided through the Service.
Intellectual Property
The Service and its contents, features, and functionality (including but not limited to all software, text, displays, images, and the design, selection, and arrangement thereof) are owned by us, our licensors, or other providers of such material and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any of the material on our website, except as follows:
- Your computer may temporarily store copies of such materials in RAM incidental to your accessing and viewing those materials
- You may store files that are automatically cached by your Web browser for display enhancement purposes
- You may print or download one copy of a reasonable number of pages of the website for your own personal, non-commercial use and not for further reproduction, publication, or distribution
Service Availability
We strive to keep the Service available and operational, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without prior notice.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We make no warranty that the Service will meet your requirements, be available on an uninterrupted, secure, or error-free basis, or be free from defects.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages for loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or any damages resulting from engineering decisions made using the Service, whether based on contract, tort, strict liability, or any other legal theory.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, fines, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, your violation of this Agreement, or your reliance on any calculations or results produced by the Service.
Changes to These Terms
We may update this Agreement from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or relating to this Agreement or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands.
